UM. this is the hottest Jin has EVER been [to me] and I am having a full blown existential crisis as an OT7>RM/SUGA/JK biased ARMY.. FULL. BLOWN. MELTDOWN. so you may witness my obliteration in real time...
Also - it's worth mentioning they're all speaking to each other in formal Korean -across the board- almost the entire live, and this is super silly, if you might imagine you and your bingbong friends just calling each other sir/madam/maam and being 'fancy' for no reason at all - that's sorta what's going on here just for funzies

*안녕히 계세요 (ahyongheegehsaeyo) - is "goodbye" when you're the one leaving (so you're basically saying, stay well) as opposed to "안녕히 가세요 (ahyonghee gaseyo)" which is used when the other person is leaving when you're saying "leave well"

JK accidentally says this because it feels like they're "leaving" us to go back there and party with tataface but then he catches himself cuz they're not actually leaving us

unlike the maknaes, I'm sure Jin (as the oldest) feels a little bit uneasy doing this unscheduled live, without having cleared it with the company beforehand, all a tiny bit loopy - or at the very least - after having had a few bevs and announcing it so, so he's tryna vibe and AT THE SAME TIME, probably tryna calm his own nerves a little bit cuz it probably feels a little more reckless than he's used to

I know Jin is a wildchild and Jin Hit entertainment has birthed so much chaos - but when it comes down to it, Jin is wildly professional, deeply respectful of his company, and abides all the rules they really have to - so I'm sure he's trying to reconcile the fact that these two bebes are like SUPER chill w/ this impromptu chaotic live and how he personally feels about it but trying to go with the flow trusting it'll all be okay - which is why he asks 'is this okay?/right?' so many times throughout this live

witness Jin trying to chill LOLLL poor bb - but as an eldest daughter and one ALWAYS left in charge whether I liked it or not -since the age of ~6? of all the younger ppl in my life.. i get this DEEEEPLY... lol

i love seeing this complicated/chill/natural dynamic - authentically two little jellybeans wanting their oldest hyung to let loose, the eldest hyung honestly feeling torn between allowing himself to be perceived in an uncomposed state AND wanting to vibe/go with the flow with his two bebes.. probably in equal measure

and let me be clear, Jin's motivation for not necessarily wanting to show ARMY a more uncomposed side of him has less to do with his worries of ARMY judging him but more to do with his sense of responsibility over his two younger brothers and their groups overall image because he will be held ultimately responsible if something stupid were to go down

Jin: for me- so far, i was really vibing (in this tipsy/nice state) but as of turning on the live - i have COMPLETELY sobered up and my mind is SUPER alert right now..
V: oh really? i think about that.. after the fact loll
Jin: I mean i did say if you wanna do it, do it - but my anxiety got ahead of me a little bit.. I'm older than you two after all - if anything were to happen.. I'd feel responsible (would feel badly/frustrated that I "let" it happen)

real quick aside real if you really want to know about Korean culture - definitely skip this if you don't care - it's TOTALLY okay lol
being the eldest obviously has it's pros/cons in all cultures, one of the most difficult aspects in KOREAN contexts is that the oldest one is always held responsible for EVERYTHING. So it *is veryyy different if let's say JK or V do a live solo and act a fool vs. if they do the same thing with one of their hyungs on the live with them - as much as they might be held personally responsible, their hyung will get at LEAST 1.5-2X the repercussions for having let it happen in their care

so especially eldests among millennial Koreans & older who 'accept' their role (not outright rebel/etc.) either always felt personally conflicted from having to be the voice of reason WITHOUT being a partypooper or perceived as a partypooper whose mere presence (even if they didn't "police" the fun) would beget others to walk on eggshells to a point (a shitty option) OR learned to compartmentalize and refrained from ever taking part in situations like that -so younger people could have fun without them; this is why the eldest, in many contexts, are the most formidable because if they arrive on scene - they are to be taken seriously.. but it is also why eldests NEED other contexts/friend or family groups wherein they are NOT the eldest so they can have a shot at being pampered/babied/covered by others too

HYBE Korea's system of not requiring the oldest to be the group's leader is one of their wisest practices. For other groups where this is not a safeguard in place, I do worry about the mental health of the eldest/leaders because it TRULY is double (if not triple/quadruple/etc.) the pressure to assume both the title of the leader AND the oldest

V: ah this is true.. at the end of the day you do have to be the one that takes responsibility for us

*실없는 얘기(shil ubneun yeggi) = light/nonsensical talk; 실없는 - means kinda like.. without deep meaning, like 'chitchat/small talk' in nature
V replies like 'well when i talk it isn't quite without meaning' but the way he expresses it is 'it is WITH shil' (this is not how Koreans would express this - to say that when i talk it is substantive.. but V is just sorta playing with Jin's words)
실(shil) also separately, literally means "thread" - so 실있어 (shil eessuh), meaning "with thread" is a pun too.. not what V was shooting for but Jin responds to this by saying "so will you be sewing in the future..." and the bingbong trio shares a bingbong laugh over this terrible joke and Jin's 💰💰💰 2 egg per ramen laugh
