*하두리 (haduri) was an old webcam/chat program that was hugely popular in Korea like late 90s to early 2000s - and the vibe was grainy webcam selfies, low-res digital camera photos, flash-heavy lighting in just regular non-aesthetically curated regular shmegular rooms (kinda messy, kinda cluttered, etc.)

(potentially there was a big delay and it just now caught up)

(so Jin says 기가 (geega) and then just goes straight in for a handshake
but he was beginning to say '기가 막혀' (geega makhyuh) = literally translates to my qi (or chi, heard "gee") is blocked; but this kinda has a similar meaning to like 'unbelievable!' - similar to the way "unbelievable" can be used both to describe something incredibly awesome (like in this case, Jin is saying it to hype up V for getting the best angle using just an egg carton for their live) or something exasperating or annoying.. depending on context/tone, it can also be used in that way

I feel like this is the only way Jin feels comfortable "swearing" and/or this is some inside joke between the members

장유유서 (jangyuyuseo) is a Korean phrase that translates to "respect for elders and love for juniors" - it's a very traditional Confucian value that is still very much alive in Korean culture, and it basically means that you should respect your elders and take care of your juniors - but in this case, he's saying it to Jin giving Jin 'first dibs' on the chicken since he's oldest

Jin: even cold water has a top and a bottom/hierarchy

piling on to the hierarchical shenanigans all in good fun but leave it to the spoiled baby bear to come trampling through it all

V: but you know it's the coldest at the bottom right? (suggesting the youngest should go first)

in Korea, delivery fried chicken is usually served with plastic glove(s) to eat with your hands, as this is in El Paso, they likely wouldn't have been given that accommodation- even if maybe they'd ordered from a Korean chicken place

고생했습니다 (gosaenghaesseubnida) = literally "you've suffered/endured a lot" - but contextually this means like 'great job' after a substantial amount of effort was exerted towards something and is a common way to congratulate ppl on their hard-earned accomplishments - in this case a well wrapped concert; many times this is just translated to 'worked hard'

quick sidenote for those that are may be unfamiliar with the ranking, roughly 2-4% of all ranked players and to be ranked Diamond in Korean servers has a higher significance because it has the reputation for being one of the hardest and most competitive regions in the world- and while there are obviously progamers that have higher ranks than this - people, even non-Kpop/non-BTS fans recognized V's skills because there's a steep learning curve and with idols' limited time, this all speaks to V's skills

Jin being so introverted, this makes so much sense. There's that meme that introverts are sometimes 'adopted' by extroverts and I feel that deeply for Jin~ Because if it was in the name of work or on behalf of the group or some official event, Jin would DEFINITELY have no issue pursuing all leads or chasing down foodie spots or trying anything else really - we've witnessed that via Run Jin, Run Jin Tour, Kian's BNB, etc. - but when it comes to his personal life, this that are not "necessary" but perhaps for his own enjoyment, this makes so much sense and I'm so glad he has games

Also VERY quick aside -for those that are not very familiar with video games and may see it in some kind of light as portrayed in the media - only for nerds, only for tech dweebs, only for losers, etc. - I think that's a misrepresentation. I can't quite deny the strong association per se but I'd say it's much more because the point of appeal is the fascination/curiosity/appreciation for how INSANELY creative, incredible, complex, and beautiful are the worlds and puzzles and stories HUMANS can create - based on real emotions, connections, fears, and dreams - expressed in SO MANY different ways. Some games are a journey to self-discovery, some journeys are meant to instigate specific emotions to help you confront them, some games are just beautiful pieces of art/storytelling to wander through - not "win/beat" and everythinggg in between. Strategy, rhythm, color theory, writing, etc. all woven together in truly incredible ways. Video games are wild and potent reminder of the creativity of humankind.

Jin: but it's because on my solo tour, I did that and figured it'd be fine but the culture has shifted even in those few months [between the end of his solo tour and present day]

UGH. and this is when the 'few bad apples' that ruin everything for ALL FANDOMS get the most [deserved] judgment/reprimands- the individuals that GRABBED at idols - you RUINEDDD things for EVERYONEEE, not just you or your concert or your group or your fandom - EVERYONE!

V: i was looking and when I go to a different country - I always look up what's famous; what's famous in El Paso.. in Tampa.. but El Paso is high up, right?

RM: oh yea for me too it'd take 3 hours for me to check out the place i wanted to see too

V: but this is downtown here - so I was thinking about stargazing- cuz back in the day in New Zealand, we went stargazing

V: it's even higher up here than there so maybe the stars will be even more visible here

*너 (nuh) = this just means 'you' but in casual Korean, you'd only say this to your peers or people younger than you or you can use it with people older than you if they've given you permission not to speak to them in formal Korean... occassionally, older people will let this slide if it's a funny/cute/reasonably sassy moment - but yea it strikes the ear wrong to hear it in my Korean heart

perhaps something I might compare this too in American culture is if you ever see a very young child calling an adult, maybe like a friend's parent, by their first name rather than "Ms. Miss. Misses Whatever" - without being given permission by Ms. Whatever to do so - as a bystander you may feel a pang of discomfort/unease OR AS 'Ms. Whatever' you may not get like seriously insulted, but you might think THE AUDACITY??? - this is how it feels to hear V say "너" in front of his 2 hyungs, especially cuz it wasn't wrapped in aegyo or an intentionally 'sassy/fun' delivery and kinda deadpan spoken into the air.. lol #awkward unless he's quoting some meme/movie that I don't know about

for those unfamiliar, Korea has been dealing with air pollution and fine dust particles for MANY years- in fact when I was younger, adults used to 'scare' children [me included] that all your hair would fall out if you ever stood without an umbrella/covering in the rain and I definitely believed it wholeheartedly with every fiber of my being... even now, it's not as bad, but you will likely never catch a Korean, or at least a city Korean, without an umbrella on a rainy day - ALSO as such - most city-based businesses are equipped with really cool/simple rainy-day accommodations - umbrella racks or disposable umbrella bags or umbrella drying racks, etc.

for those unfamiliar, NPC's in gaming are non-playable characters, the towns folk fixed in certain areas to provide bits of info for your gaming mission or background civilians all running from the monster or just regular people walking on the sidewalks - but this term has also been adopted OUTSIDE of gaming communities to refer to people that don't seem to live with intention.. that seem to fade in the background because they don't assert their own narrative into their contexts -personally, I call these types 'barely useful furniture people'- but V is talking about the gaming reference
