came home..
came home and ordered dakgangjeong (Korean fried chicken with like a specific sweet/spicy sauce)
ordered dakgangjeong and..
also since we have to play the Merry Christmas game, there's a game that we play when the 5 of us are together..
with ..friends.. the 5 of us.. played a bit of the game and slept and woke up now it's....

but probably.. i'll prob go back to sleep.. but i'm not sure

if you listen to that song every Christmas Eve or Christmas night.. it's a vibe
it makes you feel all tingly.. and kinda somber/lonely but still ..
(literally) all these feelings get kinda complex

but i'd read this as 'bubbles up a lot of complex feelings' - ryuichi sakamoto's Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence' is a BEAUTIFUL piano piece that, just personally, I think kinda enhances whatever mood you're feeling/leaning into - if you were really feeling like twinkly, festive, chill vibes - i think it could fan that flame; alternatively, if you were feeling still/lonely/loss/serious - i think it could amplify those feelings - of course, good music can take you on different journeys every time you listen and i think this is such a piece... i can't know exactly what V was hoping to convey but I imagine it might be something similar to this when he mentions this idea that emotions get complex/hard to pin down..

this is sweet because V is using the english he knows in the Korean sentence structure he's familiar with to express, to the best of his ability, this sentiment and I just find that very endearing.

I know TONS of incredible non-Korean ARMY learning Korean (and other languages) that are working so hard - and I have a soft spot for all folks who make an effort to speak in the language they're not learning, wonkus and all, because it's SO nerve-wracking to summon the courage to piece together a thought and HOPE it lands correctly. I feel for you all, I feel for V. I, myself, in addition to maintaining/improving my Korean - am trying to learn Russian/Portuguese/improve my Spanish on the side for funzies and it is terrifying to speak it every time in real life lolll

so because weverse has this automated translation of comments from fans to Korean - this was likely a VERY poor translation because PROBABLY what the ARMY meant to say was "poor baby, please take care of your health" - what was actually read in Korean was like.. 'pitiful baby, take care'

since in Korean, there's no verbal equivalent of "poor baby" the way it's intended in english - he has likely read this like ...tf?? jokingly but also confused which is why he snaps back like i'm NOT A BABY

*불쌍한 아기 (boolsanghan aggi) = pitiful/to-be-pitied/pathetic, baby

the "aww poor baby" VIBE/sentiment has an equivalent in Korean, for sure, but it's expressed entirely differently.. but there's no phrase that would line up directly with this and be taken the same way (like an endearing, pampering tone) so literally this sounds super condescending/patronizing IN Korean, but I'm sure he didn't take it that way and recognizes it's a wonky mistranslation but is just playfully reacting to the 'baby' part of it loll

but i strongly suggest not to comment "poor baby" to them [i mean, or TO anyone directly tbh.. but that's just me lol]
