*긴장 (ginjang) = depending on context it could mean anxiety/stress/tension/anticipation/excitement/nervousness/etc. - often times it means many of these things at once - but sometimes it can be in a more of a positive tone (all of the above, like complex feels tied to when you're looking FORWARD to something - and that's the use case now) versus you can also use this in an exhausted-glad-it's-over-tone (not the way it's being used now)

if you ever hear anyone saying to themselves or to someone else that they should '긴장해' (ginjanghae) - it can mean 'look alive' 'get focused' 'get hyped'

*실감 (shilgam) = the sense of reality; for example, even AS TK watched the members of BTS - mere FEET away - it didn't feel real/실감이 안 나

*설레다 (seolleda) = to feel excited or thrilled, often with a sense of anticipation

there exists a VERY viral clip of I think V & j-hope conducting a live where someone MISTRANSLATED the text as "are you horny to go back to Korea?" or something like that but that's not what was asked and that's not why the members laughed

in that old clip, this word is used to ask if the two of them are 'excited' to go back home - the members laugh because they are 'happy to be headed back' but they're not quite THRILLED or SUPER eager for just going back home as that word implies.

this word is often used to describe the butterflies you get when you're REALLY excited about a new crush - but not because you're horny but because it's the beginning and everything is fresh and exciting and filled with wonder~ it's thrilling!

about my recent live

actually i don't think i.. i don't think i did anything very wrong
mm.. but i'm not a public figure.. and it's all stuff a lot of people in the youtube and entertainment industry say
it's just that - up til now, i hadn't shown that side of myself so i know that some of you, there may be some ARMY, that may have felt uncomfortable seeing that side of me..
i did consider that

*i had ENG subs on for my first watch and WV translated this 'because we're cancerous' 😳😳😳sheesh - in fairness, phonetically, it does sound very similar and WV auto-translate is just picking up what it hears (like your phone taking a dictation- it'll be ~90% accurate?) but then... that last 10% may be tragically inaccurate.

**자제할게요 (jajaehalgaeyo) = you can think of this kinda like when someone says 'i'll try to behave' with a tone that almost feels like a 'smirk' undergirding the words - while it is possible for someone to express this sincerely (e.g., i'll truly try to tone myself down/ hold back/ practice self-restraint/etc.) if that was the intended sentiment, he likely would've expressed it a little bit differently. NOT that this wasn't sincere but it's almost like ..you know when someone answers, in English, 'i'll try to behave' it's more coy than an earnest confession of life change you know?

My interpretation of this is that he DOES sincerely want to take responsibility for acting in a way that may have been jarring for some ARMY out of love for ARMY and for not wanting to disturb or unsettle ARMY. HOWEVER, as he'll go on to explain that he doesn't actually regret or even get WHY it was SO jarring - he clearly delineates and takes responsibility for the IMPACT his actions had, but doesn't necessarily apologize/justify the actions themselves - if that makes sense?

but also.. for those that are just always busy throwing shade/criticizing everything ..to you i have nothing to say..

Perform exceptionally well 99.9% of the time, that becomes the default expectation. Make 1 mistake or screw up one time, that's the impression that sticks - but he stops short and pivots to start with the posture of 'actually i'm not all that great i know but..' 👇🏻

*지락실 is from '지구' (jigoo, earth) + '오락실' (orakshil, arcade/game room), so like.. 'earth arcade/games on earth' - and is produced by the infamous Na PD (who produced those special episodes of RUN BTS and Jinny's Kitchen among MANY other shows)
