so in Korean, this slang doesn't exist - and while some of you may argue that by now these guys all have seen the memes on the internet long enough that they definitely know what it means when ARMY call them "daddy" sometimes BUT...

In my HONEST opinion, yes they've seen the thirst memes/edits/content and yes, they've seen/heard 'daddy' being used to describe them - but I honestly cannot tell if they'd think to associate the two in a 'sexy' way or have a whole different interpretation LMAO... they might even be confusing it to be the same kind of joke as when someone calls them 'samchon/uncle' or 'ahjusshi/"mister" but for an older person

Koreans do have slang terms for like a "sugar daddy" in CONCEPT - and it's "스폰서" "스폰남" which are LITERALLY the english word "sponsor" written in hangul or "spon-nam" (like male sponsor)

There are terms for like the attractiveness that 'wealthy/established/powerful men' exude, etc. but none of them have anything to do with the concept of 'daddy' in any way so it's POSSIBLE- they just think it's funny because it doesn't make sense to them lol

and I don't say this to 'infantilize' them or patronize them and no it's not cuz I think they're too dense to catch innuendo- but people relying on translators would know best of all - cultural differences and nuances are HARD to catch especially if there's no one, fluent in both cultures, to ever feel or sense the need to explain it to you - so it never gets explained to you!!

💬why'd you end the live?
i don't know it just shut off

• this tour has been so fun at every location I cannot choose (so, he doesn't read it but likely he was asked something like which one was your favorite stop on the your so far, etc.)
• Tampa had a really cool venue
• El Paso, no words needed, Coldplay has performed there and normally that venue doesn't host concerts but we had a concert there
• Mexico City was incredible
• Las Vegas was such an honor

• stadium tours are fun because at each venue, the vibe is so different so it's fun - like some days, the audience can be seen SO clearly and other days, the venue itself is so beautiful - these kinds of things
• yea ..I mean I'm more uncle than daddy (please see my previous comment)
• yesterday, Namjoon did a live - I saw it and I didn't comment at all and just listened to what Namjoon was saying - Namjoon has been wanting to unpack the album for a long time and of course I've known this, cuz I've been by his side the whole time, and he thought if he unpacked the album that this tour would develop even more meaning and the audience listening to the songs would feel things more deeply - and he went through so much while we were working on the album.. and because of all this, I just quietly watched Namjoon's whole live inconspicuously
• sighhh but I kinda wanna do something like that too - unpack why I chose the lyrics I did for some of the songs I wrote the way I did
• ...well actually.. I just ..on this album.. I worked a lot on all my parts and maybe songs like 2.0, Aliens, Hooligan.. the performance heavy pieces.. I mean.. rather than saying "I made them" I played a role.. Jung Kook did a lot of heavy lifting on those songs - I supported Jung Kook a lot [on those songs]

this mistake is likely because in Korea, fractions/portions are said the way j-hope said it.. so for example, 3/10 would be spoken "of 10, 3"

anyone that speaks in a different language has likely done something like this where you use the sentence structure you're most familiar with - and just plug and play vocab that you remember

but if that's the case, to j-hope and to all my readers learning Korean, I say KEEP IT UP! that's how you learn and truly.. 9 out of 10 times the meaning will be understood. body language also helps! yes, spoken from experience.

• the reason why i wanted to turn on the live was because I haven't really been able to do many lives - but I think moving forward, during the tour, same for the other members -we'll be doing more lives
