friends.. LOLLL so some of you know, I'm not caught up on all the newest KOREAN internet slang and some of it is so wild I'd need a Korean youth to explain it to me (e.g., skibidi toilet type nonsense but make it Korean.. like ???) but THIS SLANG IS SO FUNNY

100000% I've never heard it before but I 'got' it right away and it's SOOO funny

*고인물 (goinmool) = literally, water (물) that has collected/pooled; figuratively - stagnant/still water; KOREAN INTERNET SLANG - EXPERIENCED AF/OLD TIMER

I think the most 'similar vein' but not exactly the same- comparison I could think of in English is when someone is called "crusty" HAHAHAH

Like when you call someone crusty - immediately it evokes this 'has been around forever/worn' except crusty doesn't have any 'positive' side -whereas '고인물' depending on context could be neutral/positive meaning more like they're' a 'fixture' in the [whatever] space - here in the context of gaming

JK: Jin hyung is playing Nioh and he only has the final boss left to beat.. and I was enjoying it just fine but then ... but then Jin hyung, outta nowhere.. okay you know how there's like act 1, act 2, act 3

(or whatever equivalent this might be in games, not "levels" - but kinda like 3 movements within the game narrative arc - each "act" containing its own levels)

JK: he went all the way to the first boss [presumably on JK's playstation/account]. I... did not want this hehe
